This week the Prime Minister welcomed President Trump to our country.
A man who has little regard for the fragile situation the UK is in and is interested only in what he and his friends at the top can gain.
He is demanding that we open up the NHS to any future trade deal with the US. This is totally acceptable. Our NHS is not up for sale under any circumstances.
The past few years have seen crisis after crisis in our NHS and it certainly hit the North West hard which I represent in the European Parliament.
Whether it’s waiting times in Warrington, the childhood obesity epidemic in Blackpool or the axing of walk-in centres in Wirral; this will not be solved by creeping privatisation as part of any US trade deal.
We cannot let our most precious public service, bastion of our history and society be pulled down by a US President who finds it acceptable to scrap better healthcare systems for his own people.
The solution to these problems must be rooted in our precious NHS remaining public, not offered on a platter for Trump.
Brexit already offers its own host of problems for the UK and our PM must not add another one.
Agree with me? Then demand the PM take our NHS off the negotiating table.
